REX STAX, formerly known as Mr. E, is a DJ and producer who fuses ancient global rhythms with electronic elements to create a unique sound. Despite being born in East Germany during the era of the Berlin Wall, REX’s unwavering passion for music propelled him to commence performing sets as Mr. E in clubs at the tender age of 15.
Through swift networking and collaborations, he gained recognition for curating the illustrious compilation series “We Run This,” featuring esteemed industry figures such as Talib Kweli, The Diplomats, T.I., D-Block, Mobb Deep, and many more. Notably, this compilation series has amassed over 20 million streams on Spotify to date.
Discography
After collaborating with international artists, REX settled in the Caribbean and released “Eternity Collide” in 2017. The single, inspired by the laidback island lifestyle and scenic landscapes, solidified his identity as a tropical urban music producer.
“Eternity Collide” soared to the #1 spot on the World Chill Lounge charts, maintaining its position for six consecutive weeks, while also amassing over 1 million views on YouTube.
2 years later REX debuted with the single “Her Vice” in collaboration with Afrobeat artist Irvin Fame from Nigeria. In the same year, he issued the Twerk music EP “Mas” with the artist Risiko from the Dominican Republic.
In 2021, REX collaborated with Jamaican Dancehall legend Mr. Vegas and Chase on “She Play Rough,” which spent several weeks in the Top 20 of the Urban Music Charts.
On Tour
To date, REX STAX has performed as a DJ in over 15 different countries, including Kenya, USA, UK, Germany, Dominican Republic, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Greece, Thailand, and Bali, to mention a few.
He has cultivated a dedicated following of over 10,000 subscribers on YouTube, with his videos collectively amassing over 10 million views.
